Storms ensure chances of rain and snow [Video]

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Hilltop Ski area in Anchorage opened up on Friday! The snow may have been a bit on the soft side due to the warmer temperatures, but it was hard to beat the enthusiasm showing up on the slopes. Snowboarders and skiers enjoyed the in-town snow treat on a Friday evening.

Warmer temperatures dominated the week in Anchorage and other parts of Southcentral this week. Temperatures are above normal in the interior and west coast too.

The Jetstream location has aided in the transport of these low-pressure systems that have brought rain and warm air. A new storm will impact the state starting Sunday. And in advance of the storm’s arrival, warnings, advisories, and watches for snow, gusty winds, and a possible influx of rain/freezing rain.
