The person’s bicycle, charred clothing, a hacksaw and cut wire were found at a transformer after a power outage early Thursday.
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Commerce City Police are looking for a person who cut a wire in a transformer, got electrocuted and walked away from the scene early Thursday morning.
About 5 a.m. Thursday, United Power had an outage and sent workers to inspect a transformer in the area of 10500 Havana Street. They found a hacksaw and cut wire, and then called police.
Joanna Small, public information officer for the Commerce City Police Department, told 9NEWS that the person should not have survived.
“United Power told us we should probably be looking for a body,” Small said.
Officers found a bicycle and the charred remains of clothing. They watched surveillance video that showed two explosions and a person walking away from the transformer.
