Video above: WVTM 13’s Carla Wade sits down with SpahnDr. Brenda Lovelady Spahn, founder of The Lovelady Center, has died at the age of 75.Starting with seven inmates from Alabama’s Julia Tutwiler Prison in 2004, Spahn launched what would become the largest faith-based recovery facility for women and children in the nation out of her home with the mission of helping her “loveladies” “rebuild their lives and walk forward with faith-driven hope for the future.”Lovelady has the only state-supervised reentry program in Alabama, meaning certain prisoners are allowed to carry out their sentences at the center.The center has reportedly impacted the lives of nearly 20,000 loveladies as well as their children, according to the organization’s website.Spahn’s work lives on through her daughter and current Lovelady Center Executive Director Melinda MeGahee.She leaves behind her husband, Jeff Spahn, her children Beau Gregory (Melissa), Maehew Gregory (Rebekah), Melinda MeGahee (Shawn), Miranda Oestenstadt, Hunter …
