In December, McAdenville, a suburb of Charlotte, transforms into Christmas Town USA, one of the biggest holiday attractions in the Carolinas and known as a destination nationwide. Over half a million lights shine as hundreds of thousands of visitors pass through each December. In the common areas of town sits a large nativity scene, as well as 250 evergreen trees covered with more than 500,000 red, white, and green lights. In the center of town, there is a large lake with a fountain along with floating Christmas trees.
