Missouri women can’t receive abortions in the state right now due to a significant legal hurdle.That hurdle is the licensing of abortion facilities.Planned Parenthood of Great Plains CEO Emily Wales said abortion facilities have to get a special license from the Department of Health and Senior Services.”The real holdup is the licensing requirements, and many people don’t know that,” Wales said.The license only applies to abortion facilities, and other medical facilities, such as hospitals, don’t have to get the license.”We want care to be treated normally.
