Snow Showers on Tap for Saturday Morning [Video]

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – Cloudy and calm tonight across western Mass after a very pleasant day across the Pioneer Valley. Afternoon highs overachieved and reached mid-40s in Springfield, but Berkshire County got stuck around 30!

Though a powerful winter storm is missing us well to the South, we do have a cold front moving into our area Saturday morning with a period of light snow or snow showers. This system will bring hills around 1-2” of snow and the valley will likely see a coating to 1” by the end of the by the afternoon.

Drier air builds in Saturday evening and night with clearing skies and seasonable temperatures.

High pressure builds into the southern US Sunday and Monday, bringing dry weather and sunshine up and down the East Coast, including New England. An upper-level ridge will also allow for near and slightly above normal temperatures-nice!
