Birmingham small business loses thousands during snow closure [Video]

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – While the city of Birmingham continues to thaw out after the winter storm, business inside Eugene’s Hot Chicken is slowly heating back up.

“It was kind of slow yesterday, but Sunday is always a banger man,” said general manager Terrell Williamson. “I guess cause the church crowd and everything else.”

Eugene’s has locations in Uptown and Hoover, as well as three food trucks.

Staff noticed their customers were dwindling Thursday afternoon, and by Friday they were forced to shut down because of the icy roads.

Williamson said the small business has lost a lot of money.

“Thousands,” he shared. …
