Former Columbus Chamber of Commerce leader Don DePerro dies [Video]

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Don DePerro, the former president and CEO of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, has died. He was 66.

The Columbus Chamber of Commerce confirmed DePerro’s death to 10TV on Sunday. The circumstances around his death were not immediately released.

“Don was a kind and thoughtful leader, guided by his faith and devoted to his family. He was deeply respected and admired by all who had the privilege to work alongside him,” a statement from the chamber of commerce read in part.

DePerro joined the Columbus Chamber of Commerce in March 2016 as president until he recently retired. In November 2024, Derrick Clay was announced as his successor.

Before joining the chamber of commerce, DePerro served as publisher at American City Business Journals for 31 years.
