The impending TikTok ban, set to take effect Jan. 19, could impact Texas businesses and nonprofits that rely on the platform for marketing and fundraising.

TEMPLE, Texas — Small businesses and nonprofits across America are waiting. TikTok could face a nationwide ban on Jan. 19 unless the Supreme Court intervenes or its Chinese parent company agrees to sell the platform.

The social media giant, boasting over 170 million U.S. users, could see its operations shut down in less than a week. While current users won’t face legal consequences for keeping the app, TikTok plans to cease all U.S. operations if the ban takes effect.
