ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – It’s almost been a week since extreme wind gusts shattered windows, tore roofs off homes and littered debris across Anchorage neighborhoods.

Now, through an online survey, the Municipality of Anchorage is trying to understand the full scope of storm damage.

In a press release Friday morning, the city said the Individual and Business Assessment Survey will help Anchorage leaders know if they need to request extra recovery support from outside agencies. The input will also assist the city in understanding the storm’s larger impacts and preparing for future extreme weather events.

Residents with urgent food or shelter needs can call Alaska 2-1-1, Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., or contact local agencies directly.
