Will Trumps executive order affect Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project? [Video]

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – President Trump signed a flurry of executive orders during his first two days in office, some of which could affect local infrastructure initiatives like the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project.

Former President Joe Biden signed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act in November 2021 which provided funding for infrastructure projects.

One of the executive orders signed by President Trump this week would repeal the implementation of the bipartisan infrastructure law.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine says that it appears to him that Trump is focused on the subsidies for the Green New Deal and some of the subsidies that are focused on climate change and electric vehicles.

“I think the bridge was the last thing on his mind,” DeWine says.

The bipartisan infrastructure law gave Ohio and Kentucky more than $1.5 billion for the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project.
