ALABASTER, Ala. (WBRC) – Alabaster City Schools is excited to welcome students back for the upcoming school year as they have been working diligently to fill their teacher and bus driver needs.
Like many school systems, Alabaster has struggled in the past meeting their hiring needs before the school year starts, but this year that’s not the case.
Superintendent Dr. Wayne Vickers said all of their teacher and bus driver positions have been filled.
“One thing we have done at alabaster city schools is we post positions early and we do a lot of our hiring in may and we usually finish 95% of our hiring in June which puts us in a much better situation and we are already thinking ahead of that,” said Dr. Vickers.
On top of that, several renovation projects wrapped up this summer just in time for the students’ return to the classroom.
