Man, oh man, business is starting to pick up on the gridiron.
Last week locally had the College Station-A&M Consolidated rivalry game, while the BV at large had Somerville-Snook’s rivalry showdown for the Baker Highway Trophy.
Those two games were a sign of what’s to come as more rivalry games, more ranked matchups and district openers are on deck this week.
I’ve got a 10-2 record after last week’s 2-1 slate. Let’s hope I can keep those good times rolling.
THREE GAMES TO WATCH
1. St. Joseph at Allen Academy, 7:30 p.m. Friday
Picking last week’s A&M Consolidated-College Station game was tough and this rivalry matchup is just as tough.
St. Joseph and first-year head coach Mike Forgione are still searching for their first win after losses against BVCHEA, Richland Springs and Coolidge two weeks ago. The Coolidge game was the closest as the Eagles lost 50-43 at home.
