“Owning a coffee shop has always been my dream. And I did it. And I think I’m ready for a new one,” said Estrella Rodriguez-Northcutt.
In the Russian Plaza shopping Center in Anchorage sits this coffee shop. Now, Cafecito Bonito is closing its doors. The owner, Estrella Rodriguez-Northcutt, says owning a small business is challenging.
“It’s hard work, like as a person who just is their own boss. And, you know, I have my mom and my sister. It’s difficult to keep up with having a business and also having a personal life,” said Estrella Rodriguez-Northcutt, owner of Cafecito Bonito.
But Estrella did find time to recently get engaged.
“That’s my plan to move out of Alaska and to just go live a quiet life,” said Rodriguez-Northcutt.
Throughout Cafecito Bonito’s 3 years, it has been more than a coffee shop. Estrella calls it a sort of cultural hub for people in the city.
