Arizona non-profit helps horses forced to evacuate in southern California fires [Video]

CAVE CREEK, Ariz. — Two Arizona non-profits are helping horses forced to evacuate from southern California as fires rage on.

One Step Wild Burros and Mustang Rescue and Horses Help are teaming up, collecting donations and loading up a truck full of supplies to head to California on Jan. 17. 

Owner and founder of One Step Wild Burros and Mustang Rescue Stacie Thomas said this isn’t the first time the group has lent a helping hoof to horses and animals in need. A few years ago, Thomas was contacted by an equine center during the Malibu fire, and after asking the community for help, they were able to drive a trailer out to help.
