BANGOR — Thousands flocked to Harlow Street on Saturday to celebrate local artists of all talents.
The Sidewalk Art Festival is spearheaded by the Downtown Bangor Partnership, and they say the event helps to support artists after tourist season and keep appreciation going for local businesses.
“It’s a good time of year, too, because people are starting to think about holiday shopping…I love the idea of people starting their holiday shopping by buying something local and handmade,” said Betsy Lundy, Executive Director of the Downtown Bangor Partnership.
Vendors lined the streets to sell crafts of all kinds, paintings, photos, jewelry, and more. Some demonstrated their handiwork live, including glass artist Kaila Smith, who did an in-person demo of glass bead-making.
“I just want people to know that I really love what I do and I try to put a lot of care and effort into making sure that I’mmaking a beautiful, quality piece of jewelry …
