Ashton Stamps solidifies starting cornerback spot on the LSU defense [Video]

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – As a true freshman, Rummel alum Ashton Stamps received a lot of playing time at cornerback. Those reps are resulting in Stamps locked into a starting job this season.

“Four starts, in the SEC that’s a lot of games. Majority of them were SEC games. Just to feel that pressure, feel that atmosphere, see how fast the game goes. The second year should be way easier for me,” said LSU sophomore Ashton Stamps.

Stamps has the backing of the coaching staff and his teammates. he’s been a constant disruptor in fall camp.

“He’s definitely cornerback1 in my eyes. He’s made some spectacular plays this camp. Going into USC, that’s the dude you want out there on the field,” said linebacker Whit Weeks.
