CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – The Battleship USS Iowa’s Facebook page shared its support for the people and businesses the wildfires have impacted.
“For the most part it’s a lot of fallen ash from the sky and just smoky air and everything, but physically we are a far enough distance away and being right there in the channel of the port of Los Angeles we have enough of a breeze where most of that air is being blown other areas so it’s not currently being affected,” said Director of Development at the National Museum of the Surface Navy at the Battleship Iowa, Kyle Aube.
Aube says employees have all been able to stay in their homes, but they know people who can’t. With the flames impacting so many people in this area, the focus is on supporting neighbors.
