JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Not a bad start to our Friday morning with temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s as you head out the door. Highs will be a touch warmer today, into the low and mid-90s. We might feel the heat a little more today with humidity increasing slightly, but the big warmup will not be here until next week.
Highs into the weekend will warm to the mid-90s. Mugginess will be held at bay through Saturday but will increase by Sunday afternoon as winds shift and bring in moisture from the Gulf. Temperatures and humidity continue to rise into next week, with triple-digit air temperatures possible by mid-week. Also possible by mid-week: rain. While it does not look too impressive, a few scattered showers and thunderstorms may make an appearance. Better rain chances look possible into the following weekend (for now).
