BLM Idaho Fire responds to fires started in the Mountain Home are [Video]

Three new fires were sparked in the area around Mountain Home and Bruneau. BLM Idaho Fire is actively responding

BRUNEAU, Idaho — BLM Idaho Fire has responded to multiple fires that started near Mountain Home and Bruneau on September 2. The Syrup, Lover, and MM60HWY51 Fires were all spotted on Sept. 2, and crews are responding. 

These fires are all lightning-caused due to a storm front moving through the area.

MM60HWY51 Fire: Sept 2

The fire is located about 10 miles southeast of Bruneau right next to mile marker 60 on Highway 51. The estimated size as of 11 a.m. is more than 10 acres. This fire is estimated to be contained by 1 p.m. There are 2 BLM engines assigned to the fire. 

Syrup Fire: Sept 2

The Syrup Fire is located about 10 miles northwest of Mountain Home. As of 11 a.m., the fire is estimated to have spread more than 400 acres. The fire is estimated to …
