Blumenthal visits western Connecticut to look at flood recovery efforts [Video]

OXFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn) visited western Connecticut on Wednesday to take a look at some of the flood recovery efforts.

Route 34 fully reopens after deadly flood damaged parts of the road

He visited the Oxford Mobile Registration Intake Center that aims to help residents impacted by the severe weather. There, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) helps residents with recovery aid applications.

“They’ve visited more than 900 businesses — FEMA is on the ground, working hard, delivering. I repeat, delivering money into people’s hands, their bank accounts, so they can rebuild their homes and their businesses,” Blumenthal said.

Route 34 in Oxford has also fully reopened after being damaged by the August flooding.
