India vs Australia Test: India captain Rohit Sharma will miss the opening Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series as the 37-year-old batter will be staying back in Mumbai to spend time with his family.
As per the Times Of India, the captain is anticipated to be ready for the second Test at Adelaide Oval on December 6. According to the report in TOI, “the Indian captain has communicated his decision to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) stakeholders today (November 16).”
“Yes, Rohit Sharma will not be featuring in the first Test. He wants to spend some more time with his family and the new-born and the Indian cricket board completely respects his decision,” an official close to developments was quoted as saying by TOI.
