BELKNAP SPRINGS, Ore.– Travel along Highways 126 and 242 are impacted by wildfires burning in the area and it is not yet known when they will return to normal. Weekend thunderstorms caused multiple fires in the Willamette National Forest, including the Boulder Fire.
California Incident Management Team 13 now has another fast-burning fire to oversee while they work to contain the nearby Ore Fire and other newly started fires. One of the tasks that needed to be addressed is the fire’s proximity with the nearby Highway 126. The Oregon Department of Transportation coordinated a reduction of traffic along Highway 126 and may even close the road if it becomes too dangerous.
