SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Big changes are coming soon to downtown Branson.
After a few years on hold, the city is moving ahead with overhauling part of the Ozarks tourist destination. The $5 million project incorporates more than just the look of the downtown area. It also incorporates improvements such as roads and infrastructure.
“Been waiting for this a long time,” said Steve Hartley.
He is co-owner of Dicks 5 & 10 located in downtown Branson.
“It’s been seven or eight years since the last one was finished, so we’re so grateful to the city for coming up with the money to finish it,” he said.
He says it’s what’s underneath the roads that concerns him most.
“Obviously, the underground needs to be updated. That’s the reason for the streetscape, the water runoff, and the septic, all need to be updated. So that needs to be done, and for sure, …
