Brattleboro Fire Department officially takes over town’s EMS services [Video]

The Brattleboro Fire Department in Southern Vermont has assumed full responsibility for responding to all medical emergencies in town, a task previously handled by third-party contractors.That means that the Brattleboro Fire Department is now solely in charge of responding to medical emergencies around town. The transition officially happened on July 1, with the department taking over all EMS calls after ending its partnership with Golden Cross Ambulance. “We’re on our third day here, and we’re up to like 15 or 20 calls so far,” Chief Leonard Howard of the Brattleboro Fire Department said. “Things are going good, and staff is doing very well.
