PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – Buckeye Hills Regional Council has received a new wave of funding for its popular Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program.
“It’s a program that is ran statewide in a partnership between agencies on aging and the Ohio Department of Aging. What it entails is that for individuals age 60 and older they can received $50 in coupons to use at the local senior farmers markets as long as they’re participating farmers with the program,” said Aging and Health Director Jennifer Westfall.
This program has been running for years across the state due to the state’s support for its elderly residents.
