Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell voted to start NBA All-Star Game [Video]

CLEVELAND — With the Cavaliers in possession of the NBA’s best record, much as been made of the club’s cast of budding superstars, from Evan Mobley to Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen.

But in Cleveland, one player has already established himself as one of the league’s preeminent players. That reputation only gained in stature Thursday, when Donovan Mitchell was named one of five starters for the Eastern Conference All-Star team.

Fans and media members voted in Mitchell and the New York Knicks’ Jalen Brunson as the East’s two backcourt torchbearers. It’s the sixth consecutive All-Star selection for Mitchell dating back to his Utah Jazz tenure and second career start, both of which have come as a member of the Cavs.
