After Tuesday’s council meeting former Mayor Wynola Smith, two council members and the city clerk resigned, leaving city hall doors locked until further notice.
ADRIAN, Ga. — City of Adrian management is at a standstill following the resignation of several elected officials.
Adrian is a small town in Johnson and Emmanuel County with a population of less than 600 people. The front doors to Adrian City Hall and police department are locked as of Wednesday morning, with no leadership in place except for three remaining council members.
Some neighbors tell 13WMAZ they’re waiting to see how business will move forward.
“I think the actions after the meeting on Tuesday, they’re just they’re very disrespectful,” Adrian resident Tiffanie Bennett said. “I feel like if you have a community and you care about your supposed community like they claim then there should have been discussions for conflict resolution.”
