CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A Chesapeake man was sentenced to 22 years in prison on Oct. 3 for possession and distribution of child pornography.
Shawn Piazza, 27, was sentenced to a total of 72 years with 50 years suspended. After he serves 22 years in prison, he will be put on sex offender-specific probation and required to register as a sex offender for life.
The case started after authorities received a cyber tip from Kik, an electronic messaging company, that Piazza’s account was responsible for uploading images and videos of child pornography.
A search warrant was executed at his home, and multiple devices were seized containing child pornography with children between the ages of 1 and 14.
