KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker has stepped into the political limelight recently. Last week, Butker was seen on the campaign trail with Missouri Senator Josh Hawley, and then later announced he’s creating his own political action committee — UPRIGHT PAC.
Chiefs’ CEO Clark Hunt said Wednesday he has no issue with Butker creating a PAC.
“I’m not at all concerned when our players use their platform to try to make a difference for what they believe in,” said Hunt.
Hunt said he encourages all Chiefs players to fight for issues they’re passionate about.
“One of the things I talk to the players about every year at training camp is using their platform to make a difference,” Hunt said. “Obviously, we have players on both sides of the political spectrum, on both sides of whichever controversial issue you want to bring up.”
