INDEPENDENCE — When people think of Chiefs romances, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift probably come top of mind.
But, this holiday season, the Hallmark Channel brought its own festive football romance to the small screen with “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.” Filmmakers shot the movie over the summer in Independence, a Kansas City suburb.
“They would darken the area with this big canopy thing and bring in artificial light to light it up the way they wanted and get it all set … so, that was kind of cool,” said John Norton, who owns Big John’s Corner Bar on the Independence Square.
The business is across the street from Square Pizza, which filmmakers converted into a barbecue restaurant that Donna Kelce, Travis Kelce’s mom, works at in the movie.
