Children’s Place offers help for children dealing with trauma [Video]

A Kansas City man is accused of sexual misconduct with a child under 15.According to court records, Wesley McGlothlen, 75, targeted two children under 10 in his neighborhood.In one instance, the records state that McGlothlen offered candy to a girl several times. When she declined, the charging documents say McGlothlen grabbed her and took her into his home.The records also indicate that McGlothlen lured a boy into his home with the promise of seeing a puppy.“I think it gets tricky when you think about an apartment or in your neighborhood where it may be people you see. But that’s where we teach children that they can wave and say hi, but they shouldn’t accept gifts, food, or go into someone’s apartment,” said Ann Thomas, CEO of The Children’s Place.The organization provides counseling for children.Thomas also emphasizes that parents should have open conversations with children about their body parts and who …
