Chilly start to the weekend, warmer Sunday before storm threat kicks off the week [Video]

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Cold air lingers on Saturday. Highs will be in the upper 50s with cloudy skies.

Sunday is a bit warmer, starting off in the 40s and 50s and climbing to the low 70s. Scattered showers are possible throughout the day.

Stronger storms move in Sunday evening through Monday, lingering through Tuesday.

Heavy rain could lead to flooding as storms train, especially Monday and Tuesday. Some areas could see 2-5 inches of rain.

A strong cold front comes through by Wednesday, dropping highs from the low 70s to the low 50s. A light freeze will be possible by Thursday morning north and west of the lake.
