In the last decade, HK has played an important role in the world’s startup ecosystem due to its geographical location, efficient financial markets, and skilled labour supported by one of the most tax friendly systems globally. TI1is ecosystem has demonstrated remarkable resilience in recent years and growth has picked up since 2023 . Despite various external challenges, InvestHK’s 2023 Startup Survey showed that both the number of startups and their number of staff employed reached a new record high, with
a total of 4,257 startups employing nearly 17,000 staff.
