Amber Abney-Bass, the Chief Executive Director of the Jesus Center, says that around 4,400 people have registered for the 2024 Run for Food event so far and tells Action News Now that there is still plenty of opportunity for people to come out and register for the event.

CHICO, Calif. – Chico’s largest annual event, Run for Food hosted by the Jesus Center is just a few days away, on Tuesday about 2,000 people walked through the doors of Fleet Fleet Sports in Downtown Chico to pick up their race day t-shirts and packets.

“On Thanksgiving morning on the Run for Food, it is all about love. It’s a very special day and we’re just grateful for everybody who join us,” Jesus Center Chief Executive Officer Amber Abney-Bass said.

Abney-Bass said Tuesday’s turnout made for a busy day for event coordinators helping participants get everything they need to know for the Thanksgiving race.
