UTICA, N.Y. — In the weeks since federal officials raided Millennia Companies CEO Frank Sinito’s lavish Ohio home, conditions at some local Millennia-owned properties have deteriorated.
“A pretty severe cockroach and mouse infestation. We also have seen issues with electrical problems,” according to Community Organizer Shana Dahlin of Legal Services of CNY, an attorney working with some local Millennia tenants.
Tenants sent NEWSChannel 2 photos of cockroaches in run-down apartments.
Some were willing to share what it’s like living in Millennia-owned Brandegee Garden Apartments in Utica but didn’t want to be identified.
“Homeless people getting in, doing drugs, there were a few times I had break ins into my apartment,” said one such tenant. “People pointing guns and robbing women in here.”
Some local Millennia tenants are working with attorneys to fight for better living conditions.
