Connecticut man delivers toys to families in need as Santa Claus [Video]

After losing both his parents as a young child and growing up in foster care, Tony Gomez has dedicated his adult life to helping kids in similar environments.

PLAINVILLE, Conn. — It’s the season of giving, and for those who just try to make ends meet, that can translate to a strain on an already tight budget.

One man from Plainville, however, has garnered a reputation quite like the man we know as St. Nick; helping to make the holidays just a bit brighter for families in need.

Over the last five years, the typical routine for Tony Gomez during the holiday season has involved suiting up in a Santa suit, stocking up on wrapping paper and dipping into a savings account dedicated entirely to purchasing gifts for children.

“I have embraced the Santa Claus that comes out,” said Gomez.
