Crews fight Siphon Fire burning northeast of Apache Junction [Video]

The fire is burning in remote terrain in the Superstition Wilderness and is currently burning 30 acres, officials said.

PHOENIX — If you’re seeing smoke near the East Valley, it could be coming from a recent wildfire.

The Siphon Fire is currently burning in remote terrain near northeast Apache Junction. Officials said the blaze has burned between 30-40 acres.

Tonto National Forest officials said two engines and Type 1 helicopter were assigned to the fire.

Those in the East Valley are asked to stay away from the First Water, Boulder and Siphon Trails as firefighters work the area.

According to officials, there are currently no structures or people in danger or closures in place.
