BERLIN, CT (WFSB) – Electric rates were a major topic of discussion at Governor Ned Lamont’s State of the State address.
For months, people have talked about the increase in electric bills, particularly the public benefit portion.
On Wednesday, Gov. Lamont said he heard the passionate conversations regarding these high prices and their impact.
He said his administration is focused on finding supply that keeps up with the demand and is affordable.
“These high prices impact all of us, working families, seniors on a fixed income, small businesses and large manufacturers. Everyone was mad as hell looking at their bills following the hottest July in recorded history. So was I,” stated the governor.
The first order of business for Gov. Lamont’s State of the State address was to discuss these high electric bills.
For over six months, residents across the state have seen an increase in what they are paying for electricity.
