Dale County farm among others in state to receive Alabama Ag Credit startup grant [Video]

DALE COUNTY, Ala. (WTVY) – Alabama Ag Credit awarded $50,000 in grants to several farmers throughout the state who are just starting in the industry. One of those farms is based in Dale County.

4C Meats began operations about a year ago and is growing. Brittany Gulledge and her brother Blake are the owners.

“We are 7th generation farmers, so we have been really immersed in it,” Brittany Gulledge said.

Recently, Alabama Ag awarded the siblings a $10,000 grant for their startup.

The grants come from an initiative to empower farmers new to the industry.

“The challenge for us is being able to market our meat. We do it through social media, but not everyone is on social media. So we want to create a website for that and the money is going to help us do that. I really think this will grow our consumer basis, having that website …
