The Honorable Chief Judge Colm Connolly oversees the federal courts for the entire state of Delaware. As Delaware is the home for most incorporation of most United States companies, Connolly and other judges may hear patent and commercial disputes as well as appeals for bankruptcy. As chief judge, Connolly has handled administrative duties for the court since his appointment in 2021. He also was a law clerk for Judge Walter K. Stapleton of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and also spent seven years as an assistant U.S Attorney in Delaware. He became a partner in two different law firms in his career: Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.
