PHOENIX (AZFamily)— Happy December! We are starting the month warmly, with 80-degree high temperatures expected on Monday and Tuesday.
The average for this time of year is 69 degrees, so temperatures will range about 10-12 degrees warmer than normal over the next few days. By Tuesday evening, we could get close to tying the record for that day, which was set back in 1940, which is 81 degrees.
By mid-week, a weak low-pressure system will move through the region, bringing high temperatures down a few degrees back into the mid-to-upper 70s.
This is still warmer than normal for this time of the year. Dry conditions are expected statewide through at least the middle of the week.
