DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver City Council is expected to vote on Mayor Mike Johnston’s proposed budget for 2025 on Tuesday night.
The budget, in part, aims to combat an expected drop in federal funding for several projects, officials said.
Leaders said housing and safety continue to be key funding priorities. According to officials, the city’s general fund is estimated to be up 0.6% from 2024.

Highlights from the funding proposal include:
Leaders said about $220 million would be in reserves. It also sets aside about $12.5 million for Denver to assist in migrant arrivals — a drop of about $90 million budgeted for the current year.
