‘Deny, Defend, Depose’ gets attention and gets painted over in Phoenix | CrimeWatch [Video]

PHOENIX, Ore. — The phrase, “Deny, Defend, Depose” is surfacing across the country, including in Phoenix today.

New York police say those words were on ammunition used in a deadly shooting of a health insurance executive this month. 26-year-old Luigi Mangione is in jail facing a Monday arraignment for that death.

His criminal case — and those words — seem to be a protest against health insurance practices.

Today, a painter covered “Deny, Defend, Depose” graffiti at a Phoenix storage business next to Interstate 5, where the facility’s long, open wall exposed to I-5 has been targeted before for graffiti. 

Before he painted over the “Deny, Defend, Depose” graffiti, the message had an audience of I-5 traffic for a few hours this morning.
