The department said plans will increase by an average of 5% in the individual market and 9% in the small group market.
BOISE, Idaho — The final premium rates for 2025 have been released by the Idaho Department of Insurance.
The department said plans will increase by an average of 5% in the individual market and 9% in the small group market. The eight insurance carriers for the state published their justification for price increase on the Department of Insurance site.
“While medical inflation continues to drive up premiums, Idaho’s overall average increase is lower compared to other states. We continue to have highly competitive health insurance markets, giving Idahoans more choices and lower premiums than in most states,” said Director Dean Cameron.
The State of Idaho has stable rates due to the 1332 State Innovation “Reinsurance Waiver”, said the department.
Idaho’s open enrollment for 2025 begins October 15th and ends December 16th.
