A POPULAR discount chain has confirmed it will shut three stores in one city in the face of financial challenges.
Big Lots will close dozens of locations across the country but one Illinois city will be hit particularly hard.
The discount retailer will wave goodbye to three stores in the Chicago area.
These branches are in the city’s Lockport, Niles, and Crest Hill areas, according to The State Journal-Register.
The stores have all launched 20% closing down sales.
A final date for these stores has not been confirmed yet but they are expected to shutter by the end of the year.
Illinois’s 26 other Big Lots stores are scheduled to remain open.
