Dragons’ Den viewers were left scratching their heads after Sara Davies invested in a football shirt mystery box business this evening – despite the founder making a ‘dog’s dinner’ of his numbers.

Co-founder and AFC Wimbledon supporter Alex Street went on the BBC show hoping to get a £50,000 investment for a 10 per cent equity share of his company, Mystery Jersey King.

The business works via a subscription service, costing £29.99 a month including delivery, where they send football fans one mystery shirt every month which can come from anywhere in the world.

He said that this allows them to build up their collection of jerseys while offering the chance to bag themselves new tops at a discounted rate.

He started the business alongside Jamie King in lockdown when they were placed on furlough and had more time on their hands. The duo shortly moved to an office in the same year they launched and now have four full-time staff.
