Early voting in Ohio begins today [Video]

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – On October 8, just one day after voter registration closed, the state of Ohio has started early voting.

The Washington County Board of Elections expects the turnout for this election to be large due to the significance of the presidential and local and state representative aspect.

In the last presidential election Deputy Director Karen Pawloski says they had 72% turnout during a pandemic, but this election they are projecting a higher turnout.

At noon on the first day of early voting the Washington County Board of Elections already saw a significant turnout.

“We open at 8 a.m. and I got here at 7:30 a.m. and there was already a line of a few people waiting to get in to vote. At this point we’re probably close to 290 people that have voted since 8 o clock this morning,” said Pawloski.
