Elk Grove: 2 construction projects to cause traffic delays [Video]

Water pipeline construction affecting Franklin Boulevard starts Tuesday and is expected to cause traffic delays until early 2025.

ELK GROVE, Calif. — Two construction projects starting soon in Elk Grove could cause significant traffic impacts, and one is expected to continue through 2025, the city said.

The Sacramento Area Sewer District starting Tuesday evening and lasting until early 2025 will close the northbound Franklin Boulevard lanes for water pipeline construction, and Union Pacific railroad company has scheduled extensive repair work from Saturday to Monday at the railroad crossing at Bond Road requiring a full road closure at that location.

The construction is expected to last until early 2025, the city said. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes whenever possible in this area.
