As the housing shortage continues to be a growing problem in Vermont, a new venture in Essex could help alleviate the issue.The Essex Experience is being looked at as a site for a major housing development.Bringing workforce housing to the popular outdoor shopping mall has been on the mind of founder Peter Edelmann for nearly a decade.However, he said now there is a need for it. “We know this is an issue,” said Edelmann. “We know this is a problem.”As part of Edelmann’s solution toward the Green Mountain State’s housing crisis, he’s planning to build 170 affordable housing units, ranging from one to two bedrooms.He said he believes this would also help address two major questions the state is facing as well.“How can we get young people to Vermont, and how can we keep people?” said Edelmann.This project is still in its very early stages.Edelmann said they’re in the sketch-plan …
